The so-called tiger or shrink glaze technique is a glaze technique of Chinese origin burning over a high fire, on which the glaze layers appearing are of different thickness. The curiosity of this technique is that its emergence was not a result of lengthy experiments, but of chance. A factory worker dropped a bottle of kerosene into the glaze. After this incident, Vilmos Zsolnay conducted further experiments to refine the procedure.
